Eva is a California native, born and raised in Menlo Park and Palo Alto, and New York City.
She is currently a Professional Dance Artist in Brooklyn, New York.
Eva began dancing at six, giving it up two years later to pursue horseback riding and musical theater. At thirteen years old she began seriously training and performing as a dancer, moving to New York City one year later with her family.
Eva furthered her education at Arts Umbrella Graduate Program in Vancouver, Canada, under the directorship of Artemis Gordon, from 2017 - 2019. She performed works by many international choreographers such as Aszure Barton, Cayetano Soto, Crystal Pite, Emily Molnar, James Kidelka, Johan Inger, Lukas Timulak, Mats Ek, and Michael Schumacher among others. She also had the opportunity to create and present her own choreographic work within the Crystal Pite Choreographic Mentorship Program at Arts Umbrella.
After graduation, Eva went on to perform locally and internationally with Ballet BC, under the directorship of Emily Molnar, in a new production of Romeo + Juliet by Medhi Walerski. She served as an additional cast member to the company, deepening her performance experience with a large company, as well as learning what it was like to play a role in a large body of work.
Eva had the pleasure to learn within, and be a part of the beautiful mountains of the Alps of Canada at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. She worked closely with Medhi Walerski and Pierre Pontvianne to develop a new work. The residency program was called,“Preparing the Ground”.
Eva performed in New York Fashion Week with Imitations of Christ and Dead Serious NYC in 2021. She had the opportunity to dance inside St. Marks Church in downtown Manhattan, wearing newly designed, one-of-a-kind garments for a show geared towards bringing awareness of the overconsumption of fashion, and the growing effects the industry has on the environment.
Eva was invited to be a dancer on set for John Stallings’ music video pitch, “Life Is Not The Same”, by music artist James Blake. She served as a conduit to tell the story of Jame Blake’s song.
From 2022 - 2023, Eva worked with New York City based artist Marla Phelan. Workshopping ideas for a much larger work, Eva worked with Marla in a Simon’s Foundation and Gibney Open Interval Residency, exploring the relationship between how stars form and collapse, and how that is mirrored in the human experience. In summer 2023, Eva had the pleasure to perform in “Planting Connections”, a performance series curated by Kyle Abraham at Lincoln Center offering emerging choreographers an opportunity to showcase their works within the outdoor landscape of the Hertz Plaza. Within the series, she premiered a work directed and choreographed by Marla titled “The Well”, a performance expanding upon the research created within the Open Interval Residency. In April 2023, Eva premiered a new work by Marla, “Blood of the Pomegranate” at the Joyce Theater, for Movement at the Still Point, a performance commemorating the times of lockdown, when dance seemingly paused.
In Spring 2023, Abi Polinsky photographed Eva for a residency at the Tuleste Factory Gallery in Chelsea’s Gallery District.
In summer of 2023 Eva was invited to perform at Le Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur in Helen Simoneau’s work, “Delicate Power” – A work exploring female power.
In spring of 2024, Eva worked as creative assistant to Alisya Razmon in her work, “Again, Together”, created on the Ailey Professional Division for their Spring Concert. She has also worked as creative assistant for Eve Jacob’s creation on Colombia Ballet Collaborative in 2023.
Eva has completed courses with somatic practitioner and body worker Kimberly Ann Johnson known as Activate Your Inner Jaguar. There, she learned tools to help transform trauma in the body through the nervous system into embodiment and purpose. Eva believes that all woman need somatic tools and a renewed understanding of their bodies to help them thrive in the ever evolving demands of modern day life.
In 2022, Eva received her Pilates Mat Certification from the Kane School in New York City. As a teacher she helps people attune and strengthen their bodies through movement repatterining 1-1 and in groups. In winter of 2024, Eva created the platform “Community Pilates” to help bring accessible movement to people in her community. She is currently on faculty at Pilates Garage in Gowanus, Brooklyn.
Eva continues to train with movement practitioner Anneke Hanson, where she develops new tools to help her navigate and strengthen her changing body in the evolving world of dance. Eva will complete an extensive training of Anneke’s method in early 2025.
Beyond all else, Eva is grateful for the gift of being an artist for the continuous pleasure of discovering a truer language of self, allowing her to share her love, passion and vision with a world that favors uniformity.
